Recruitment and Selection Process

In Business we are studying the selection process of a job. We searched for a job advertisement and I chose one of a Business Development Manager in Berkshire, Wiltshire, Dorset. I had to design these job specifications:

Qualifications:

•A background in field sales is essential
•A successful track record in new business development

Experience:

•A background in field sales is essential
• A successful track record in new business development
•Experience of advertising/media sales useful but not essential.

Personal Qualifications:

•Ability to be self driven and motivated                                                       •Diary management and strong organisational skills a must           • Can sell to key decision makers and leaders within a target sector
•Driven and optimistic, with a positive attitude

Duties:

The manager will have to prospect new business and have a determined approach to closing business. Will have to manage it’s own diary and successfully building a new business pipeline from a given territory, particularly within the SME/single stakeholder client base through to major corporations and Public Sector. Will have to be dealing with internal teams and a range of customers, the manager will demonstrate excellent communication skills and a tenacious, adaptable attitude to building solid working relationships with business prospects.

Will assume responsibility for growing the territory and be expected to critically assess your own performance as well as contribute towards the strategy of the business moving forward.

Yes, I would change the fact that the company is not mentioned although it is referred as “one of THE top recognised companies within the advertising arena with tangible and rewarding benefits.” because no one will believe or be sure of that if the company isn’t properly presented.
